I let the Girl Friend use my computer the other day, can back to find a whole bunch of spyware programs (webhelpers, search assistants etc..) had installed themselves!
Interesting thing a guy does here at work:
He uses
VMWARE to run a virtual XP and runs his browser out of that -- very interesting (and performance is pretty good -- somewhere around 1.5GHz w/ 1GB of ram on his Laptop)...
Rebuilds just that vmware virtual system when necessary (with a ghost image ).
Really works out well..
(at my company --we use VMWARE for product testing -- I like it a lot ! )
