The next step is running games from the GAMES HDD.

How do I install/play WHD Games & how do I play ADF's?

Do you have the software installed to use the PCMCIA card reader? IT CAME WITH A FLOPPY BUT THE FILES SAY ERROR WHEN I TRY & RUN THEM.

If not, you will need to download this software and transfer it to your Amiga either by putting the CF card back in the PC. THE CF IN THE PCMCIA OR THE HARD DRIVE INSIDE?

First you'll need LHA, the most popular archive format on the Amiga. I HAVE DOWNLOADED THIS BUT DO I RUN IT IN WINUAE?

Can you break it down a little simpler - I am a total noob in case you have not noticed LOL

Sorry Cammy but that seems well difficult as I am a total novice, and I am a totally lost. (I thought I did well installing the WB)

Is there not a step by step guide or a youtube video on this?

I looked on youtube but I couldnt find anything as that would be easier, maybe someone can make one?

Thanks guys

Hi gertsy,

Yer I have a CF Card HD with a GAMES partition that I wanna copy the games to.

I have WHDLoad working on my PC using the Gamebase frontend. I just click the game I wanna play & WinUAE fires up and loads the game.

I am thinking if I sellect a game using Gamebase, interupt it (F12) add my CF and boot into Workbench, will the game be still there and I can copy the files to me GAMES partition?

WOW managed to install ClassicWB following this guide

http://classicwb.abime.net/classicweb/instructions.htm

I installed it to my CF and stuck it back in my Amiga. I get an error message when the WB has loaded which I ignore then the ClassicWB starts.

There is no games in the Games folder or demos in the Demos folder, just gotta sort that out now

*Update

Hi All,

Been messing around with classicWB and I think I got the hang of it & installed all the classics I wanna play.

The problem I have now is I never knew most/all the games require more RAM. So I need to get some more RAM :-(.

The other problem I have is where do I put the key for WHDLoad so I dont have to wait for the blar blar to finish.

Thanks again people

I have spent ALL weekend sorting out this CF, installing CWB, Installing all the WHDLoad games and I cant play any of them as I dont have enough memory :-(

Also I cant believe how much extra memory costs (if you can find it)

All I really wanted to do was run a couple games from my internal drive. Is there not a cheap option. Like just running a Floppy disk from the internal HDD?

I decided I gonna pick up a A1200 - this will resolve all my problems y/n

I can just put the CF card I have setup from the A600 & put it in the A1200 in that & play the WHDLoad games y/n

Got my A1200!!!

All excited - opened it up, took out the HDD, installed my CF card. Fired up the ClassicWB, click on a WHDLoad game.

None of them worked :-(

It says "cant allocate shadowmem" what does that mean now?

Is ClassicWB taking up to much memory and I should go back to the original?
