Aimga 4000 Good price?
« on: October 08, 2004, 04:44:42 PM »
Hi all,
Iam new to the Amiga, at least I hope to be new. I recently won a bid for an Amiga 4000 on ebay.  I paid about this time last week so I hope it arrives shortly.  I just wanted to know if $280 + $35 shipping was a good price to pay for a basic Amiga 4000.  Also does any one know how long these shipments normally take to deliver. I am also new to ebay. I hope to get help learning how to use it from some of the more experienced users on this forum.

Thank you.  I actually have had an Amiga 500 for some time now but I fear it has sat on a shelf for the lack of a hard drive.  Could you tell me how useful the Amiga 4000 would be, you know, software support and such? Are there decent PD productivity applications available?

Here are the specs:
This auction includes the following:

One Amiga 4000 Desktop computer with 68040 CPU - TESTED and working
Amiga 4000 keyboard
Amiga mouse
18MB or RAM installed
500 MB Hard Drive with OS 3.9 installed
Video Toaster 4000 software installed - card not included
3.1 ROM chips installed
Other software installed includes: Ami-Back Tools, ASIM-CDFS,Directory Opus, Web browser
Power cable
Note: Monitor is NOT included

I am just going to delete the Video Toaster software. I do not know what it is, but without the card I am sure it is worthless to me.
