Amiga game selector
« on: February 16, 2025, 03:14:35 PM »
Does anyone know if it’s possible to get something like the Amiga Game Selector working, and if so, how? I found the AGS 2.6 real hardware disk image (hdf), but it doesn’t work. I think its size was over 10GB. I recently managed to install OS 3.2 using instructions, but I’m not a professional with these things. 😁

The problem seems to be that the HDF image has FullDrive/RDB selected. In WinUAE, the gameselector hdf boots normally. Is there a way to remove this feature or create a new HDF and copy everything into it without rdb feature?

Sorry it took me a bit to reply. There were failures one after another, so the A600GS ended up on the shelf for a few months.  :D I guess it’s time to dig it out again and get back to tinkering.

Looks like we've got a new version. Something to test on the A600GS when there's time!

Yes, it was released on Christmas Eve. If you figure anything out, let me know. Some people have already managed to install it successfully on the 1200NG from a CF card.

I finally managed to get AGS to start using the instructions above, but as soon as I try to move around in the AGS menu, it returns back to the A600GS main menu. The same thing happens with the keyboard, a USB gamepad, and an Arcade R 9-pin joystick.

EDIT Actually, on the very first launch it seemed to work. I was able to move around in the menu and tried one game, and it worked normally. I shut AGS down, and a little later when I started it again, this issue began: moving in the menu sends it back to the GS startup screen.

I created a save state once I got into the menu and then tried launching it from that.

EDIT It works now as long as I don’t create a save state. Saving the settings also messes things up and after that it reboots to the Kickstart screen. I noticed a bit of slowdown in some of the games I tried briefly.
