I nearly got the same issue since some weeks now (before it ran fine) and today I've seem to found the issue ... my WiFi !

I use both a 2,4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi at home and even if it "seems" to connect fine, there seems to be packet loss and the A600GS is getting kinda stuck in the boot process, maybe while trying to set the connection up. So I disabled the WiFi from the main menu and it´s booting fine every time ! Then I setup a hotspot and put the phone next to the A600GS, connected it to the hotspot and it boots fine every time as well !

Don´t know if this applies to you as well but you can at least test it anyway ;)

I tried a new installation on the SD card. The first boot went all the way through, I updated the firmware, did the setup, and connected to Wi-Fi. I shut the device down through the menu, and it froze there.

After that, about 15 boot attempts froze on the initial loading bar, and in the following attempts, I got a black screen with just the mouse cursor visible.

Now, on the latest attempt, it froze at the point where it asks to press any key to start. I was supposed to try disabling Wi-Fi, but I can’t get that far. I powered it off again, and now it’s freezing once more on the initial loading bar.  >:(

EDIT Now I managed to get it to start — probably on the 20th try. I turned off Wi-Fi, but it didn’t make any difference. It freezes right away on the initial loading screen or a black screen appears with a cursor (which doesn’t move).

It was worth a try  :-\
