Subliminal messaging doesn't work if it goes completely against someone's nature, or what they'd usually do. It can't stop people smoking or eating. Or raise an army of zombies to take over the world.

But what it can do, if used subtly, is make people feel thirsty, needing a smoke, or whatever by playing on emotions that already exist. Its not so much subliminal as feeling like a pee when you see running water.
