I think this is the crucial point, he obviously did not know about the reversed silk screen. So it would not have mattered even if they were cheap caps or gold plated ones (yes gold caps exist, had the opportunity to work on £20K Amplifier once), if they were in wrong way around, they will vent.
Yes, but as already pointed out, your always full on.
Loads of people slag my work off. Which makes me laugh. Are they there, have they seen me work, nope, they just go off the lies spouted around forums.
Amibay, love to fuel it all. Remember one person on there going nuts, because I apparently wired a cable wrong. So after constantly slagging me off. I thought enough is enough. He was going on what customer told them. I shut him down straight away. If he had done some research he would have found their were 4 different models of monitor, all using different connectors. The one that was bought and advertised for the exact model, was the reverse to the customer model. Clearly no research done at all and apparently that's my fault its wired wrong. Go figure.
Interesting to note. So someone spent money with a so called Professional repairer (RetropassionUK) and got stung. So be it.
But with RPUK it was not just one instance of failure by this so called business.
Look I am but 1 of many who have had issues with RPUK and now it is documented.
If others wish to flip the coin or gamble with their monies, then so be it. But it is only fair to point out these issues.
Oh, as you are aware I do have negative experiences so have others with the so called “Great One”. Yes he pays off YouTubers and Forum staff on a particular other Amiga community to stay popular and make them his friends.
But when you deal with RPUK directly…..You know the rest. Especially when it goes wrong. You get ghosting, spin answers, worst of all it’s the customers fault.
What makes it laughable is that Steve Clifford thinks he is A1200.net as well. Absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
What next? Hopefully no tie ins with Perifractic and the new Commodore branding.
