Actually, I've had some bad experience with a new power supply. I bought an ATX powersupply but my PPC amiga won't work on it. Any other amiga does but they don't require a strong power supply.

I also had to connect the power-ok line to 5V and the standby line to ground. It didn't work at all if I didn't do this. I'm still not sure why all my Amigas work with it except my A1200 with PPC. So I'm back using the old powersupply at the moment knowing it will crash after a while.

Anyone ever had a similar problem ?

I've used that guide,
it doesn't mention anything about why all my Amiga's work except my A1200/PPC. Anyone got something about this ?

What is special about PPC cards ?, do they require more accurate voltages ?. I bought a cheap power supply (400W), perhaps I need to spend more on better quality ?

Uh,. I didn't try it on a PC and I've already got some wires. Just bought a new one for my Ami. Perhaps I can have a look at it again to see if I still did something wrong. Although it doesn't explain why my A1200/060 machine worked fine with it.

That change was already applied to my machine, otherwise the PPC card itself wouldn't work, not even with my old supply. I must say that the small fan's inside my machine (12V fans) sound as if they rotate alot quicker when I use the new power supply. The one not working. Perhaps the supply expects a bigger load on the 12V line ? If the load is too small the voltage is higher?
