On Friday there were calls for fans to wear khaki in remembrance of Steve Irwin so I looked all around town but khaki shorts and shirts were sold out. I saw people wearing khaki a lot and a few people with these items going to the checkouts.
There should be more discussion points in towns and cities, somewhere where people can sit, watch the news and discuss events. It's just the same as when 9/11 happened 5yrs ago... people had to crowd into TV shops to find out what was going on when they were in town.
Times Square is I suppose an example but I'm thinking more meditative with places to buy newspapers and read teletext/internet. Maybe even park wi-fi spots.
If I hadn't heard it on the radio I wouldn't have known!
