Your PSU blew and now the PCMCIA CD-ROM won't mount? Is it one of those Zappo/Overdrive things?

The jumper on the Blizzard 1230 (at least the 1230-IV) should be 2 metal pins near the SIMM socket. If you want to use the extra SIMM slot on the SCSI-IV kit then you have to connect the 2 pins with the tiny plastic 'jumper' block. This will slow down memory access to 70ns.

This jumper must also be bridged if you use a 70ns SIMM as opposed to a 60ns SIMM. 80ns is not reccomended... you can usually tell the speed of your 72-pin SIMM by looking at the code on the DRAM chips: if it ends with -6 it'll be 60ns, -7 will be 70ns.

In order for a PCMCIA CD-ROM (or any CD-ROM on Amiga) to be recognised it will need to use something like AmiCDFS/AsimCDFS and have CD0: in Devs:DosDrivers/

EE : Access time in nano seconds. Sometimes the zero is omitted. In that case the number should be multiplied by 10 so that the speed falls into the 30 to 150ns range.
