When people say they won't use their Amiga as their main machine I'm a little puzzled as to why this is...

If you satisfy your craving for the latest 3D games on one of the cheap games consoles then you can surf, burn, program, paint, write, design, game, broadcast and whatever else on Amiga. If the web is slow then get IBrowse2.3 as it seems very good at ignoring the Javascript that has crippled web-browsing on sites like eBay over the last few years.

Back on the subject of gaming though and an A1200 with a relatively cheap 166MHz PPC/'040 combo could let you play Wipeout 2097, Quake, Myst etc. The AmigaOne appears to have Quake 2; Pegasos Quake 3.

TurboPrint will let you use the very latest 5760-dpi photo printers and I think Frying Pan lets you burn DVDs (don't quote me on that though). CamControl will let you download images from a digital camera and there are USB adaptors that can fit into A1200 desktop for flash pens, scanners etc.

Oliver: I think the A1200's PCMCIA port may be v1 & v2 but not v3. Don't know about the A600.
