That sounds a very familiar problem.

AmiMasterGear is the best emulator on Amiga in my opinion and it was
lately made freeware. I think maybe someone continued with the source
because the latest freeware one doesn't utilise the
S:amimastergear.key

If it's going into some sort of loop use Executive (Top) or SnoopDos
to identify what exactly AmiMasterGear wants and what sort of CPU
usage it is using.

Check any libraries it uses are up to date and that the original LHA
wasn't corrupted.

Also, try putting the keyfile into S: and then removing it. If the
latest one sees a keyfile it might get confused as the executable
auto-detects no keyfile and still gives you the full freeware version.

I got this trouble with the latest freeware Iconian too.

I seem to remember this happening with me once, but it's worked
perfect ever since I altered something.

I only have AmiMasterGear.prefs in S: now so 0.82 must work best
without the keyfile. That simple little key might be the cause of your
loop headache.

I don't think it's an '060 issue (just keep it to normal fps!!!)

:-D :-D

Excellent. Hope you have Sonic 1 & Asterix...

Sonic 1 gets 30fps on an '030...   with an '060 you can choose between 60fps or 300fps.

It moves more like a Laurel & Hardy slapstick if you don't control the CPU though...

;-) ;-) :-D

Try also AmiGameBoy which uses the same style and get Kirby!

:-)

The thread had gone cold anyway, by changing the subject you
resurrected it like a shambling zombie thirsty for flesh.

Well done on avoiding Analogic. If they had trouble repairing the
mass-produced A1200 then I dread to think what trouble you'd have had
if you'd taken the A4000 in.

One thing I hadn't mentioned about AmiMasterGear is that it doesn't
appear to be retargettable - so I doubt it'll work on a graphics card.
There are probably ways around this though.

Just out of curiosity, when an Amiga retargets to a GFX card screen,
does it treat AGA screenmodes the same (i.e. just flipping back down
to a 15Khz mode seemlessly?).

I heard there was a special driver called CyberGfxAGA which allows you
to use RTG software on AGA albeit slowly. Does anyone know what this
is and if it's worth installing for standard chipset owners?
