Very Sad Day for Me
« on: June 24, 2006, 04:14:40 AM »
Today has been very rough for me and though this post is not really Amiga related, I just needed to vent a bit -- please forgive me.

My cat, Peeper, who was but seven years old (that translates into human years of 45 IIRC), had been feeling ill for nearly all this week.  We finally decided to take her to the vet and found our worst fears realized... her kidneys had failed completely and if left unchecked, she would have died a VERY painful death and we would have never even known it.

Long story short, we could not bear to have her suffer and there was nothing that medicine could do to reverse the damage, so we made the painful decision to have her put down.  Thus Today has been very hard for me because I raised this cat from a kitten and she indeed was like my child.

She will be missed very much.

I really appreciate all the kind thoughts and stories of pets.  Peeper was a part of the family and all the sentiment and feeling in your posts have helped ease the loss a little.

I appreciate it.

Time will heal this wound too.

It is kind of funny but our other cat (her name is Casey) has just noticed that her "sister" is missing.   They were not litter mates and it was a little challenge integrating them over a year ago (when my wife and I moved in together).   But I think Casey is even feeling the loss.
