UAE on Linux
« on: April 30, 2006, 08:55:36 PM »
Greetings:

I just installed my Linux System and downloaded UAE 0.8.22 for Linux and ran it.  I have my own ROM file and my own ADF copies of software, but all I get is a black screen when I run this.  I notice that there is a place for AmigaForver Keyfile and that is blank... since I do not have one... but I am not sure what I am doing wrong or if there is another UAE someplace else.

I have setup all the tabs and hit "pause" so that it starts up but all we see is a really pretty black screen.

Hope someone has some experience with Linux UAE.

Thanks,

Mike

Got UAE running now.  Just not sure how to setup a hard file for it.  Went to the tab and made a new filesystem, but it shows up on the WB desktop as a floppy not a hard file.

Hope someone can shed some light on how to do this in the Linux version.

Thanks,

Well I have euae installed on SuSE 10.  The thing crashes as soon as it comes up?  I am not sure why.  I have loaded my ROM and my ram images and it blips and dies.

I am not sure if this is because my ADFs and ROM image got corrupted... this is not hard to fix because I have them backed up on CD ROM and can just recopy them.

But it seems not to like something?

Any help is appreciated.

just a note that it was not the ADF images or the ROM image so I am not sure what is up with EUAE, it is on SuSE 10 OSS and it was installed using YaST.  The version is 0.8.28.

Not sure why it just dies upon load

I am using the GNOME desktop.

It is getting to the configuration screen but when you unpause it, it dies after a blip to the emulation screen.

My images (ADFs and ROM) still work fine in WinUAE.

finally got EUAE running.  Still not sure how the hard drive thing works.  I have a directory setup on the Linux system called amigaHD and I have pointed EUAE to it but it is 0 size to the Emulated Ami system and I can neither format or use HD tools on it.  Not sure what I need to do to make the hardfile because I am not transferring one.  I suppose I could have one made on a windows box and then copy it to a CD or something???

Anyone who has a functioning copy of the system I would like to hear from you!

Thanks,

@TheMagicM

Greetings:

I have a directory selected, but I am not able to make it appear as a hard drive in EUAE... What did I need to do.  I am trying to setup a full WB 3.1 Emulation so that I am ready to go when I attain my Catweasel.

How to get the emulator to treat the directory as a hard drive would be eluding me.

Thanks,
