A1200NG Wireless mouse issues and Amiga keyboard question
« on: December 13, 2025, 12:39:36 PM »
Hi!

Finally I have my A1200NG board and I’m now in the process of setting it up.

I’m using a Logitech wireless mouse and something strange is happening. The mouse works on the main menu without issues. As soon as I enter Amibench the mouse doesn’t work. It’s as if it’s not connected. If I exit Amibench, it starts working again. Haven’t tried installing my workbench, so I can’t say if the behavior is the same.

Also, tried to use an Amiga tank mouse (db9) and it doesn’t work at all. Don’t know if it’s a problem or just a feature (like it can’t use db9 mouses).

I’m also using the original Amiga keyboard. On the initial setup I left the option “105 key generic keyboard” and ticked the option “use alt as amiga key”, since I saw this on a video. Is this configuration correct? Haven’t tested every keys but the keyboard works in general.

Thanks.

After fiddling around some more with the settings, I found out that I had to use the option to configure controller on the main UI, to let Amibench “know” which port my mouse was using. A bit odd that if the UI knows there’s a mouse being used, doesn’t automatically apply that setting to everything…

Also, about the keyboard situation, when I configured the shortcut key to access the menu it identified my “help” key as “Insert”… that makes me think that maybe I didn’t chose the correct keyboard configuration on the initial setup. As a suggestion, on the keyboard menu there could be an option for “original Amiga keyboard” that maps the Amiga keyboard automatically. Then, we would only need to choose the layout and it would be ready to go.
