I seem to remember the documentation saying serial support isn't very good. Local html files would open without any TCP support/stack at all.
The BSD support works flawlessly if you have a working IP connection in windows (however it might be connected), if you're trying to run an IP stack within UAE it might well be conflicting with Windows!
