I have an IBM I Series ThinkPad running at 300 Mhz with 128MB of RAM. It is currently running Winhos 98. I am thinking of making it my first experiemnt into the world of Linux. Anyone have a suggestion on what version of Linux I can convince the beast to run? Thank you in advance.

A debian based distro using a lightweight window manager like xfce4 or similar. KDE and GNOME will use too much ram in my opinion.
My favorite debian based distro is ubuntu.
