Assuming for argument sake you did manage to upgrade the 68k to 68060 and squeeze 50 Mhz out of the 68060. You are still stuck with a very weak PPC card. Let us say you managed to squeeze an upgrade to that for a decent 250 Mhz maximum...though I think 200 Mhz seems a more logical squeeze. Wouldn't you be end up spending a fortune upgrading and hacking this card doubling the price of already an expensive card to match that of the top of the line already PPC card for A1200 that goes to 350 Mhz with 68060 @ 50 Mhz in them? I mean the question goes...is it even worth hacking through the card and you still will be stuck with severe bottleneck that comes with THIS type of card.

I think I agree completely with the rest of the community that one should skip A1200 PPC and sticked with either a powerful Apollo or Blizzard card.

Top of the line Blizzard card is 380Mhz+ with very high speed memory access. High speed memory access alone changes the way blizzard card performs even at a low 270Mhz. Bvision performance has also increased due to modification where the PCI bus is clocked from min 37.5Mhz to 41.5Mhz.

For the first time I am now going to revealed the benchmarks for PCI bus clocked at AGP speed.

ragemem shows 8/26. This is preliminary and sets a new world record, but its expected to get quicker. The benchmarks may not seem impressive but the test was done with OS4.1 update 5 1024x768 32bit screemode.

Blizzard PPC cards are very stable in either a tower or desktop but it needs a very good power supply. Its all about power supply & cooling which is the basic standard to getting the card to run stable. Test here have shown Pico PSU have a problem with my set-up but this is something I will look into at a later date as its not important at this time but users should be aware that high speed cards may have a problem with Pico PSU ie here it will boot up fine but when a hard reset is done it will refused to boot after let's say after 3 mins regardless if the PSU is cooled.

Normal 060 cards holds no big advantage over a 060 version of Blizzard PPC card as it can clock 90Mhz+.

Last known test 96Mhz but was very stable at 93Mhz but for now I needed close the gap in performance to users that use radeon and voodoo cards on classic amiga.

Sorry did not type it clear enough in this thread. Screenshot will be uploaded when I have time.

All test are done with 256Mb ram.

There is a write problem with Blizzard card clocked at 350Mhz,it trashing the hardrive this is why it has jumped to 380Mhz but still retains very high speed memory access. I know where the problem is and this is the hold-up for processor change over but its not a easy fix.

Bvision may stop working at around 73-77Mhz on the 060 side but you can continue all the way to around 93-95Mhz.

But I don't recommend overclocking Blizzard card to above speed remember Blizzard card has 83Mhz logic.

WARNING: Blizzard logic chips must be cooled for high speed cards.
