free RAM
« on: October 10, 2017, 07:06:42 AM »
I've tried reducing addbuffers and running add21k, but OS still uses about 300Kb, is there any way to free more RAM for whdload?

I have 2Mb FAST RAM; using tinylauncher from startup.
how much free RAM can I expect with a single 500Mb pfs3 partition, 70 buffers and no startup-sequence?

hey you should know there's no such thing as 'free (lunch)'.

I think add21k does that. I could use add36k but iirc there's some problem with it.

i'm trying to run some games with preload or avoid 'context switch' in whdload.
startup-sequence is rather simple:

setpatch
addbuffers df0/dh0 -999
add21k
;clicknot
tinylauncher.exe

so, I'm already using all that stuff.
How much RAM is used in your Amiga without startup-sequence?

thanks all, its OS3.1 and no patches. I'll try 'avail flush'.
