Quote:"Some time ago I predicted the demise of the 3.5 inch floppy disk. Now others seem to have gotten on the bandwagon and are declaring 3.5-inch floppy disks and drives obsolete."

WOW, I mean this man can predict the FUTURE... WOW! (Its like saying "the Sun will shine tomorrow")
BTW, only true Amigists respect floppys enough.
IMHO, they are still great for most tasks like transferring docs.

Quote:"For example, there are now 2GB and 4GB cards from Kingston that cost $300 and $500, respectively. They're not cheap, but you only have to buy one once and use and reuse it indefinitely. It's a worthwhile investment."

Well my USB flash disk lasted for half of year and then it just died. On the other hand, I've got floppys from 80's (3"  ones for ZX Spectrum+3) that still work without BB.

I mean surely&obviously floppys are slow and small capacity, but they are still useful.
Better sorry than worry.
