actually I have changed several blizzardppc cards the 040 to 060
but BEWARE you must have EXPERIENCE with soldering and much more EXPERIENCE with desoldering!
the soldering can easily take 20 minutes but the desoldering of the 040....
can take hours to days.
also you can built some socket for the 68k from lines of pins
and you must change 2 jumpers.
one resistor near the resistor for overclocking the ppc and to the left of them, and one chock (bigger) that is under the 68k and to the down edge of the board.
after that you mast FLASH IMEDIATELY the board with an 060 firmware and your done :-)
the desoldering of the 040 is a very dangerous work because blizzardppc is a multiple layer board and is very easy to damage it by getting out the proccessor or by overhot it.
And it doesn't deserve it!

The Flash of the card CANNOT take place BEFORE changing the CPU because the flasher will tell you that you have wrong processor for this update. But BECAREFULL you must have a PREPAIRED disk before change the proccessors because the only thing you can do with an 060 cpu with 040 flash is get to the shell by geting to earlystartup and selecting to start without S-S, any booting without the correct flash will crash the machine. Also its best after you have changed the cpu to disable the BPPC card by holding key 2 when starting up to do the flash with the internal (020) processor, this flash with 020 will take up to 10 minutes maybe a little more so you must be patient and do not distrurb it because you can end with a useless card.
If you dicide to go for the update I'm wishing you luck.
:-)
