5 pin power supply adaptor repair/replacement

Hello

The 5 pin power supply adaptor thing for the a1200 has now broke so i need to know whether it is possible for it to be repaired. How much would it cost to repair or buy another 5 pin adaptor. Has anyone got a spare one for me to buy. Please, please let me know! ;-(

Yes, someone else said something like that to me as well. But i really want it to be repaired or buy another one. The wires have come away from the connector that connects to the wires coming from the PSU, not the wires lieading to the 5 pin plug. I would be really pissed off if this cannot be fixed, it would be the final nail in the coffin for me. As my PPC aint working neither.

That is a very nice offer LinchpiN, but unfortunately, it would be wasted on my setup, PPC, HD, 2 FDD, CD ROM, CDRW, etc. I need the cable that you get on the Power Tower setups, or a similar sort of act. Thanks anyway. If anyone else has any spare then PLEASE let me know.

Isnt it the same 5 pin adaptor that plug's into the amiga a1200's original power socket? If so... i can remove the lead from the psu and send you the 5 pin square socket and the lead, so you can connect it on?

No. The 5 pin adaptor plug is flatter than the original one. Like this, mine is similar, but is a little flatter still:



The problem i have is here:

The white connector you see are my problem, the wires that lead between the white connectors and the 5 pin plug socket have come away from them white connectors. That is my problem, the 5 pin plug is okay. Note this picture is from for a CD32, but is similar apart from that black socket would be the 5 pin socket adaptor that would go into the A1200.

If the wires are coming loose pins-and-all, you might be able to fix the barbs, but chances are they've snapped off and are rattling dangerously conductive 'round the bottom of your case.

I don't think the white connector need to be replaced, just that i need the wires back in them. They were soldered in as well.

Just emailed "Power Computing" about a replacement lead. Although it will probably be a waste of time as they have a reputation of not email people back.  :pissed:  :-x

Its the adapter in the Power Towers that connects to the PSU plug on the A1200s and then plugs into the F8 and F9 AT connectors from the powersupply. That should explain it better!

The AT connectors aren't broken, i just need to insert the wires back in. Is this possible? They were soldered in before, but came loose.
