6 Euros a pint!!!!????  Crikey, if the treasury taxed our beer at that rate, we'd be able to afford our own space programme.

Actually, once the government are done taxing the motorist (now officially public enemy/cash cow no 1, after years spent taxing smokers until most of us quit) then I'm quite sure tipplers will be next in line for some bad PR and corresponding tax hikes.

Ever thought of homebrew?  You can get all the ingredients you need quite easily to brew your own beer and the results can be quite something.

However, don't go to the same lengths this lady went to in order to brew her own beer... (warning - discretion advised).

The Gov wouldn't dare over tax drinkers!

Not while we have people like Bonnie Charlie Kennedy and Ken Clarke as MPs.  It's thanks to them that so many small Scottish distelleries remain in business (and fine work they do too).

However, with the current binge-drinking scares going on, it's a matter of time before the government use the opportunity to increase taxes.  Of course, they'll justify it as being "socially aware", but we all know the extra millions will go to buying a new "Blair Force One".

As for the home made lady beer, you've got to be absolutely desperate for a pint before you'd consider reaching for the Yoni Ale.  Jeez, I hope it isn't poured with a large head.
