RIP Dimebag Darrell
« on: December 09, 2004, 01:33:04 PM »
Say goodbye to the former pantera rocker Dimebag Darrell, currently of Damage Plan.

Shot dead whilst on stage at a gig in Ohio.

A sad day for metal fans worldwide :-(

Come on guys!

I didnt open this thread to debate on guns being right / wrong. Just as a way to kinda say farewell to one of (imho) the best rockers in the metal world. Yes it sucks he was killed, even moreso by some loonie with a gun, but please dont turn this thread into some political argument like a lot of other threads on forums around here.

Guns have there place, and there time, just like 99.9% of things in this world. You may agree, you may not, thats not the point here. The point is someone here has been killed, and left behind a family, friends and a very large base of supporters / fans worldwide. Arguing about gun's isnt going to put that right.

Exactly. And you gotta admit, Pantera had a really big following in the Metal Scene, and were very widley respected. (Damage Plan Also).

Yeah, I remember watching pantera live on the Reinventing the Steel Tour. What an amazing band, the energy was amazing. Hopefully, Vinnie can continue the Darrell Family name with the Metal they once created.

Apparently, the killer (i cant remember his name) shouted out something along the lines of "You Split Pantera" before he shot Dimebag at point blank range. The dude never stood a chance. :-(

Did anyone watch the Dimebag Tribute on Headbangers ball last night? They played, like 6 songs (on MTV2). Only 6! You would think that a band as big as pantera they would have played a lot more...
