I LOVE TOYS as well..... Franko, sorry about your run-in with the taxman.... Sadly, the 'toy' attitude is common, usually until someone actually uses an Amiga for any length of time.

One nice thing about the US,  we don't have to have the taxman in our house (at least in Milwaukee, they are not allowed in your house unless you explicitly let them in...I never let them in..):laughing:

But, the whole 'toy' thing.. It's really a matter of perspective. The 'Speak and Spell' is certainly a toy, yet ppl. have been using 'em to make weird 'synths', etc...  See Wikipedia...

{I really want to say 'death to the taxman', but I'm sure that violates the TOS... :lol:.... How about....}

May the fleas of one thousand camels infest the taxman's trousers for one thousand years (just to be sure ;) ) :hammer:

Save2600: Yup, good call about NASA (Amiga's were used to monitor telemetry, because, according to one NASA employee, 'They never crash') Not bad for a 'toy'...

mikrucio: Simply because a machine is no longer state-of-the-art has nothing to do with it being a 'toy' or not.

Trying to think of an analogy..... I inherited an old LED calculator from my dad, one of the first on the market, it works OK.. no scientific functions, base-conversion, graphing.... But hey, it works just as well for a basic calculator as the latest TI models....  The Amiga may be slow and under-powered compared to current PC's, but it is still quite useable as a computer, to say the least. Judging by some Amiga music I heard from A.org members, I would have to say the sound quality is equal to or better than any other PC I've heard.

And ya know, buddy, you can keep your Photoshop and GIMP... If I want to do Serious graphics work, it means DCTVPaint,DPaint5,PPaint7,and/or ImageF/x... or Lightwave, or Plotter3D, or.....On My Amiga... :afro:

Gonna just go and play with my 'toys' .... :roflmao:
