A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away...
You had to turn off the second disk drive in order to get some extra chip mem KBs free, if you wanted to run a mem hungry game/program.
Yet today the same applies to Windows ( -being stingy with the mem, if you don`t want to wait for ages swapping from the pagefile to physical mem eternally).
But in the Mac world, this doesn`t exist, and you don`t even care what`s underneath! It just works flawlessly and it`s very responsive to the end user! This is my experience from the MacOSX just before Leopard. I hope this to be still the same regarding the speed, as for the new features I`m sure it`s even better (just watched the
guided tour );-)
