Can CD32 3.1 ROM's replace A1200 3.0 ROM's?
« on: January 14, 2004, 11:57:07 AM »
Hi,

I have an old CD32 with cracked lid which I use for spares, and I was wondering if the 3.1 ROM's from it would be compatible with an A1200, so that I can replace the 3.0 ROM's in one of my older A1200's? I know that there ARE some differences between the CD32 and A1200 ROM's. For example, the CD-ROM drivers are on the CD32's ROM's, plus support for the Akiko chip. But I'm not sure whether these are on the CD32's extended ROM or the 3.1 ROM's. In fact, I'm not entirely sure if the extended ROM is actually physically separate from the twin 3.1 ROM's anyway! Anybody know?

Thanks!
Steve.

Cheers! :-) I did actually try a Google search, but obviously missed the above!
