Also Boing Bags 3 & 4, here:

I'm running a fully patched 3.9 system with BB1-4 on my A2000, and even then I've found a few other things that were missed.  My suggestion is to just search the name of every program installed on Aminet (after doing the BB1-4 updates) to find any additional updates beyond what the Boing Bags install.   The Peter K. icon.library is an especially important one, since it really helps the performance of the computer and is updated about every month.  Have fun! :)

Watch out for these, there are some things in them that seem to cause scsi troubles and some odd problems, i never could pinpoint it,but going back to os3.9 install with just BB1&2 seemed to fix it. I would suggest making a os3.9 backup to some drawer on the HD with just BB1/2 to fall back on in case then installing 3&4 on the main partition.

When I did mine I did a completely fresh install.  Made a 3.9 recovery floppy and booted off that, formatted my hard drive then threw in the OS 3.9 CD and installed it, then BB 1-4, one right after the other, all in a row.  Most of the times I've heard people having problems with 3-4 is when they install them on top of an already running system, with who knows what stuff already installed and configured.  But yeah, I should have included a disclaimer: "your mileage may vary".  ;)

My .02 cents, I think it's worth the risk if you want "the latest and greatest" 3.9 system you can have.  But it never hurts to make backups along the way.  ;)

Which things? BB4 icon.library is 46.4.397 which is the same version as on Aminet.

Things.  You're just going to have to trust me on this, it's been a year since I did it and I didn't exactly keep a list.  ;)

But that's exactly what I did.  I installed 3.9.  I installed BB1, 2, 3, 4.  Then I went on Aminet and typed in the name of every program in WBStartup, libraries, etc., and I found versions of things that were still newer.  ;)

All good points to look out for, thanks!
I will be doing a fresh install on a blank SD card. Any tips on doing a fresh install from CD, Do I have to have a workbench disk handy in order for it to recognize the cd drive?

On the 3.9 CD is a tool to make an emergency recovery floppy.  I booted off that and it didn't have any trouble recognizing my CD drive to complete the install (once I changed the HDToolbox tooltype from "scsi.device" to "gvpscsi.device").

So if I keep the cd drive connected to port 2 one the 4way I need to chage it to master and select CD2?

This isn't one of those adapters that needs a software patch to activate port 2, is it?  For ease of setup it might be easier to keep the CD drive as slave on port 1 (with your hard drive as master) for the initial config.  Just something to check if you're still having issues!  ;)
