Sorry if this has already been posted already but $1000 for this is absolutely nuts. Is this NOT a GBS8200 in a fancy case?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiga-ScanDoubler-RGB-to-VGA-500-600-1200-1500-2000-3000-4000-CDTV-SX-32-sx-1-/141441737173?pt=US_Vintage_Computers_Mainframes&hash=item20ee95a1d5

It is but bumping a product up to an insane price is a standard trick used by sellers to avoid re-listing fees when they run out of stock, when they get stock they put the price back down.

What we have here, is TEN game console setups... each setup would sell for around $80 Australian...

So why would I pay $2000 for the lot?

Lol, I just hate ebay sellers that are so lazy or stupid they cant rotate their photos properly!

$2800 for a CD32. I nice CD32, with lots of upgrades, but yikes. Wonder if they're including all the scratches on the case in that price? ;)

Quite possible, I suppose!  I don't know anything about old Macs or Apple II's.  Is this a big problem with them?

I had 2 IIc's from '84 that I only sold a few months ago and neither had issues with caps failing.

I got one of those where no kickstart disk is needed, I was told the mod was most likely done by the dealer, I still have to investigate it further :)

If it's just KS1.3 split across 4 eproms then it's should be quite easy to replicate i'd have thought? I can see any physical mods on the MB.

Is it possible to split KS3.1 across four ROMs for a 1000?

yep, WinHex would do it, that's pretty much how you make two physical roms for an a1200 or a4000 from a single rom file. Just need to know which eproms are compatible and work out what address to split them at.

EDIT: Hmm, more info here - looks like you also need to bridge W2 & W4 which is easy.

Much thanks!

No worries, I wish I had a 1000 to try all this out on - I'd have bought that US one (and made the Rom's available) if it wasnt for me buying a house right now and not having the spare funds.

Three loaded A2000's went for under $600, or under $200 a pop.  Somebody got themselves a pretty sweet deal!  I would've bid in on this, except for one thing: how much space they would take up!

Hi All,

Of course in Australia you could buy an Amiga 500, stock standard, apparently brand new in box for $2500. Untested.

Bargain.
