If the only problem is to remove 040 then why quit soldering, take a saw or scisors and rip the chip. :destroy:
Forget about being gentle - you don't need it anymore. :whack:

Leave the legs sticking out of the PCB... :quickdraw:

I know it waaaaay tooo laaaaate and it doesn't fix any problem with soldering, but look what I've found!

I just think it mayby interesting sor someone...
