Have you got the latest version of cnet.device from Aminet?
I have had no trouble connecting to various networks, but it is easiest if you have a static IP. Find out the MAC address of the APNET card and set the router to give it a specific IP, then set the IP manually in Miami. (This is a worst-case scenario).
It should work with DHCP, however. Need to know more about your network topology and the settings in Miami. Generally, it should not take too much snooping to match the right settings.
