I need an NTSC Ruff N Tumble !!!
« on: June 30, 2004, 04:17:22 AM »
Hi all. I have the original Ruff N Tumble game, but it is PAL.it works fine exept that I like to play games on big TV's and since I live in the USA I prefer the NTSC version, plus it usually has a slight increase in speed....................anyone here got it or know where I can get it?  does an NTSC version even exist?

I love this game but unfortunately its PAL...its funny because even the PAL version seems to look like an NTSC version because of the screen size, but its definitely PAL.

also looking for NTSC versions of:

Turbo Trax
Alien Breed
Project X
Jaguar XJ220
ATR
StarDust
Super Stardust
Pinball Dreams
Pinball Fantasies ECS
Putty Squad
Mr Nutz
Brian The Lion
SuperFrog
Slam Tilt
Chaos Engine 2
Leander
Capital Punishment
First Samurai
Second Samurai
Elf Mania
Assasin
Fightin Spirit
Gods
Parasol Stars
Rainbow Islands
Bubble Bobble
Agony

I already have all these games but they are PAL. I want NTSC versions.............so if you have them please send them to me or let me know where I can get them. PAL is useless to me.

And YES I do know WHDLoad enables you to play most PAL games in NTSC mode....but with the screen half way down and cut off (annoying!!!) I dont like having to move my screen or adjust it for every game.

Back2TheRoots should have both versions of all games...............actually all sites should do this.

Anyone planning on making games for Amiga should look at the Game OUTFALL before you make a game....they have the most brilliant PAL to NTSC switching ever!.you cant tell the difference!

Haha, thats true.the europeans had to endure NTSC for a while I imagine since the Amiga was an American computer and most games must have been NTSC at first.

But still. I would like to be able to take my Amiga 600 to freinds houses and have some fun on a big screen TV or even record them, but cant because they are PAL. Psygnosis usually made 2 versions of all their games and i have all their NTSC versions except for Leander and Agony.

I just sold my bis Screen TV and will be buying a PHILIPS TV as their TV's usually support PAL and adjusts the screen on the fly!  they seem to care about Amiga users! or at least have in mind that this is of some great use.

I have a Big screen projector that says it supports PAL-M and PAL-N, but doesnt seem to work with my Amiga and if it does its in Black and white...........blah!!!!!!!!!!

How can you play it in NTSC mode?   I tried booting it n NTSC mode and it does boot upto the menu, but once you start the game all you hear is the sound but no picture.

I have both the Floppy version and also have it WHDLoad installed.........they both boot in NTSC mode until you select and start the actual game, which loads and you can even control the character and hear the music.but nothing shows on screen. The music is playing faster of course.

I wish every game manufacturer would implement the OUTFALL game feature. This will save them tons of work in having to make both a PAL version and NTSC version.

If anyone dos not have the Game OUTFALL, get it!!!! its one of the best Tetris/Jellybeans or globs or whatever type games for the amiga.........better than SuperFoulEggs.

Because I as I mentioned above in the beginning, I want to play it anywhere at anytime.especially in a car ( I have LCD screens) and on big screen American TV's. sure, I can definitley play it in PAL mode on my RGB monitor, but you gotta stay home and leave your computer stationary for that. I want to be able to lug my Amiga around (one if the reasons I bought an A600 and CD32) Since Amiga has Video out as standard, it makes no sence not to support both NTSC and PAL ( in Body Blows, just press F6 during game at anytime and it switches into PAL or NTSC.great idea)

But the OUTFALL game method is the best ever invented.

Well, then do as I did, if you wanna play games on your TV. Get a multi-system one.  Except you'd have to get more than one, for every playing location necessary.

Get a Multisystem one?  what is a multisystem one?  a multi system Amiga?  is there such a thing?

Anyway i just got a great idea of how it might work............is it possible to get NTSC to run at 50hz?  if so how?

@Hyperspeed

You think ATR is good eh?  try Turbo Trax, its much much better. try it mutiple times on different tracks and different cars and you will see..it drives better. ATR is too difficult to figure out where the road is heading.

Also try RoadKill.
