Wayne,
You don't think that Homeland Security in the US is keeping a very close eye on people through Facebook?

"Homeland Security"...now there's an oxymoron..... :furious:

You don't think "Homeland Security" in the US is keeping a very close eye on people through *EVERY* site they can get access to?? "Homeland Security" is just a legitimacy for the US Government to spy on whoever, whenever they want. If people start ranting and raving about it, the just drop the bombshell "Hey, you let us pass the Patriot Act. It's in the interests of national security".

..... when you've been out of school 25 years and have NO way to contact them via "IM" or "e-mail", then something like Facebook does indeed come in handy for re-establishing contacts.

Some of the people I now talk to are in different parts of the country, even different parts of the world, and it would be neigh impossible to find them otherwise.

That's really the only reason I have a Facebook. Originally, it was just to talk to my little sister, but one person found me, randomly from an old email I still use I attached to Classmates.com years ago. So, I added her on Facebook, 'cos she asked if I had one and my friends went from 2 to 70 in a matter of weeks.

The problem with Facebook is a) it's maddening that people add you, when in reality, you really weren't friends back in the day and b) the people you *REALLY* want to talk to, aren't on there.
