I saw on a different forum that someone wrote ...

Personally, I'd choose to buy the version that fits best to the majority of Amigas in one's household.
I am not sure what this person implicitly meant with this.

For the time being, please create a file

ENVARC:MMU-Configuration

and add the following single line:

ClearTTx

This trick works great! Thanks a lot!
In the meantime, I fixed this in the mmu.library. New version will appear ASAP.

With the new Intuition.library, there is one (to me) odd limitation - even though one can pull windows off-screen, the size of window is still limited by the size of screen.

I again request for locale ct files to be "released", so one can make own locale catalogs without the hassle of "disassembling" existing ones.

A guide to do this 3.9 merge with it would be nice. I am having a hell of a time getting this onto my 4000T with a clean install and then getting anything over to it so my hardware works like mediator and USB then RTG. The lack of a CD ROM drive out of the box is a hard thing to not have. MUI is to big to fit on a floppy for install to get Poseidon on to get USB working and so on.

We have this:

http://www.hyperion-entertainment.com/index.php/frequently-asked-questions/55-amigaos-314/255-can-i-mix-os-39-components-with-os-314

and Ignacio's excellent script on Aminet:

http://aminet.net/package/misc/os/Updateto314

Should suffice. I'd also think some YouTubers might pick this up. :-)

@Acill
Install the USB software and then run these commands from CLI.
You'll have to replace subwayusb.device in the second command with what ever RapidRoad's device name is. This should activate the USB port. Then use a USB CD unit to install MUI.

This, of course, will work if the RapidRoad software is installed generally like the older Subway USB software.

This is correct and intentional. Otherwise, you could move the window in such a way that you cannot reach controls anymore.

Sounds all plausible to me, though if you want to get something fixed on short notice, I propose that you prepare a "diff" of old vs. new strings and I'll forward to the translator. This is easier procedural-wise, as silly as it sounds.

I'll give it a try, thank you! I am also thinking of putting back in my CF drive over the new SSD in it and just trying the update script listed earlier.

@kolla

In screenmode, you could also insert custom width and height, the windows can then be larger.

That sounds impossible - if you can move it, you can move it back, if you can resize it, you can resize it back.
Unless you also have implemented some way of "lobbing" windows off-screen??

It sounds really silly, and tedious - as I mentioned, the Norwegian locales are ridden with errors, for example the title windows of the prefs programs are consistently inconsistent. Imagine if in German it was "ASL-Einstellungen", "Audioeinstellungen", "IControl-Einstellungen", but "Workenbench Einstellungen". And for the latter, "Keine Farbe Ikonen", "Kein Tittel Feld", "Tastatur Auswahl Verzögerung" ... it just goes on and on. Even Google Translate does better :p

If I had .ct files, I would happily provide diffs and new locales for both the official variants of Norwegian (not just bokmÄl, as it currently is).

(Wasn't there an Amiga translator organisation or something similar earlier at some point?)

Yes, I know that, but then I would also have a panning Workbench screen.
I would actually prefer if I could turn off the entire off-screen thing (which would be an IControl thing) also when using v45 Intuition.library.

And why is v45 left out from the 68000 distro? As far as I know, CyberGraphX requires at least 020.
Would it not be better to just include a separate kickstart file for CyberGraphX users?

What is a 68000 distro? You can equip every normal A500 with a 030, add the "Matze" Zorroadapter and use a Graphicboard with the A500...

There is NO 68000 distro....

This same rule apples on Windows. You can manually size a window only to the maximum screen size. *Programmatically* you can make the window much larger but as has been mentioned this does introduce usability issues.

I purchased this for my A1200, and want to write the ROMs.  I know I need 27C400 EPROMs to do this, but, is there anything more "modern" to use than a UV-erase EPROM?  I know I can still get the UV-erase EPROMs, but, they are likely used and in need of erasure, but, I do not own a UV-based eraser.

Since when was following Windows' example a good thing? There is no such limitations in macOS or any other desktop I'm using, and strangely enough, there are no problems with "unreachable controls", so I am curious on exactly how one would manage to move windows in a way so that window gadgets would really become unreachable. Anyways, I hope it will be possible to turn off this feature (IControl prefs), as my "amiga workflow" is very much accustomed to windows being limited by the screen border (and if I could request a feature, it would be to have another hotkey for grabbing and moving windows without having to use titlebar - then it would be possible to move windows in a way so that control gadgets would be unreachable.)
