Private messages cleaned up
« on: July 05, 2004, 04:32:36 AM »
Hi Guys,

Sorry for this, but as part of site maintenance, I went in and cleaned out the private messages table (necessary).  I deleted 157,000 messages (89.6 Megabytes) which were nothing but new post announcements.

In other words, where the subject == "[Amiga.org] Forum auto-notify : New post"

Forgive the trespass.  As I said, it was necessary and should not have affected real private messages.

I do not have a way to turn this off, but please consider changing your preferences to e-mail you with thread updates rather than PM to avoid this problem in the future.

Wayne

I usually just delete the notifications after I see what they were notifying about.

Is there a way to save sent (from me) PMails so I can more easily remember what I was talking about when I PMed someone?

@Wayne

Hey, weird thing I just noticed. You know those message icon deals you can select. In forum replies they don't show up, but in news replies they do-- on the left of the reply subject line.

No.  Unfortunately the lack of a outbox or "sent items" is a serious shortcoming in Xoops.  I'd recommend that notepad becomes your best friend.
