Hopefully just a casual one-night stand.

Quorn is nice if you cook it so that it goes tender. It's actually textured fungus, which is where the wubbery feel probably comes fwom. I don't eat it because it's usually bound with egg, it's vewy much a lazy vegetarians pwoduct.

I like soya mince (the one I get is soya and other TVPs fwom wheat, etc.) Tofu makes me ill though. :-(

I'd say I have tried most meatreplacers available in the supermarket, and most of the stuff is just plain filthy. The only really goodtasting is plain mushrooms.

I've had Quorn many times.
Sometimes it's lovely, other times it's mingin'.

I've had to compromise on a couple of occasions (most notably finding safety footwear for work) but that's what I aim for. :-)

Hi,

To elabotate on the original comment somewhat, I was in a rush the previous evening and saw some soya based chilli con carne in the supermarket. As far as it goes, it actually tasted ok to be honest - both the taste and texture were passable.

The prinicpal downside was that the entire mass of it seemed to be entirely broken down into methane somwhere along the the old digestive tract

I was none too popular with my workmates I can tell you! No sooner had I noisily expelled one cloud of noxious gas when I could feel another rumbling into place behind it :-o
