Also, whats Dopus?

;-) "DOpus" is short for "Directory Opus," which is a file manager utility for Workbench.  It can also be used in Workbench replacement mode, as I use it.

the pc2amres msdos program closes when i double click the PCDISK file on the AMIGA at exactly the same time now! :-)

the lead must work, wonder why its getting transfer packet errors thou?

I also ran the PC2AMDEB.EXE on the PC
And data shows when i try to open the PCDISK icon on the AMIGA

Which shows as sITT1dGS1T1dGAS TTTTTTTTTTT (at the end, denoting a timeout perhaps?) godknows im not a code headed person!

im assuming the amiga can view my whole hardrive and cdrom drives when it sees something, as i have a 120gig raid array, would this be a problem?
and do i need a seperate folder for the amiga to view, i didnt think of this before!

From one of your earlier posts, you state you have a 'serial laplink cable' is this true?

Are you using the serial or parallel port?

If you are using a parallel cable, set it to 4 way and port 1.

On the PC, have you run PC2amcfg.exe?

If you have a parallel lead select:

Parallel, LPT1:, 4W Laplink, OK

If you have a serial lead select:

Serial, Com1/2 (check which port), IRQ4 (check), 57600 BPS.

If you do not have a PC2amiga.cfg file that this pgram creates it will bomb out.

The lead sent was in a sealed plastic bag, and a sticker on the bag says (Parallel Lap-Link 25 Male - Male 3 Mtrs)

I have already tried, but set the config file to parallel, lpt1, 4way, and 'Use Selected values'

I'm running out of things to suggest here!

Set the Workbench display of your A1200 to PAL HI RES NON Interlaced (640x256) 4 Colours.

Try the software now.

Is the PC's parallel port set to PS2 or ECP or EPP in the BIOS settings?

I only used the PC2Amiga.exe file on the PC.

What version of Windows are you using?
What specification is your A1200?

CIAs are not end user replacable on the A1200.  If you did burn one of these out you'd be better off finding a cheap replacement motherboard.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Hi,

you may find that it is the version of windows you are using. I used PC2Amiga on my 1200 to a Win95 PC a few years ago and it worked without problems.

I do remember reading a review somewhere where it was mentioned that the PC prog needs to be run in a DOS window, ie dos compatability mode in XP.

It just may not work with newer versions of Windows which is not surprisiing when you consider when it was last updated!

Yes it is a dodgy picture, but what do you expect from a mobile phone camera!!

Oh yeah and I own an A1200T/060 with Mediator etc and an A1G3SE
