Hello,
A few years ago i had an old amiga 500 that I trade for a DR-550 (another old drumkit box from Roland BOSS).
I'm a freelance music producer that it's starting his way on film making and video editing.
Since my budget is a little low at the moment I remember seying some years ago video producers working with scala500 and a small box that was capable to make chroma key in a blue screen enviroment.
I wonder if someone here knows where can I buy them both and if posible a working Amiga unit at a cheap price.

You can still buy Scala 400 software from Software Hut in the U.S.

Working Amigas of various sorts can be bought on ebay.

I found this describing a Scala500:

http://amiga.emugaming.com/bundles/scalawork500.html

Looks like basicly an Amiga CD32 running Scala presentation in a kiosk footprint...you can do as much with any Amiga and Scala 400 or even Scala 300 (which came as a hard drive installed (no floppy/CD) bundle on some systems).

I'm not sure how Scala will help you as a new video/film producer though.

Sincerely,

-- Sprocket...

I coulde see it. It could nearly be a poor man's NLE but probably only for *shoorrrt* films or vignettes. I wouldn't bank a feature film on it though.
far better NLE tools exist... jahshaka, cinelerra, mainactor

The more I use my scalaMM200 (win9x) version, the more I can see where the idea comes from. It could do some storyboarding somewhat.

just my $0.02

wanted; NONfunctional A3K keyboard wanted

I think the box was an GVP G-Lock genlock.

With that and an Amiga (of course ;-) ) and Scala for titling
you can make some good videos.

The new CDRom version of Scala MM400 is dongle free (yeepee!).

As for Scala InfoChannel IC500, I don't know where you can find it, as the lucky dogs that owns a copy aren't disposed to let it go ;-)
