Gloom Via Amibench Settings/Version?
« on: May 21, 2026, 03:21:50 PM »
Not something I really know a great deal about, but how would I go about getting the best quality version of this game running on Amibench, is it a certain version or settings?

Cheers

I have a similar question, with regards to trying to run Gloom Reforged on AmiBench.

I have gotten Gloom Reforged running on my A600GS by making a 6MB bootable HDF file in UAE, then installing Gloom Deluxe from floppy on it (and copying over the C and S folders from disk 1), then installing Gloom Reforged on, and altering the Startup-Sequence to run Gloom Reforged.
I then installed the HD image onto the A600GS main menu, setting the model to A1200 and giving it 8MB fast RAM, enabling JIT CPU emulation and faster chipset, it runs rock solid at 25fps on the best resolution with all effects on, only dipping a little if I use NASTY violence mode.

Installing on AmiBench is another story, I can't get it to work, in either P96/RTG or AGA mode. Again I installed the game from floppy and Gloom Rerorged from the lha archive file, but trying to run in P96/RTG mode just comes up with "Picasso96.library not found, running in AGA mode", but then just comes up to a blank screen, sometimes even crashing AmiBench in the process.

Does anyone know if it is possible to run Gloom Reforged in P96/RTG mode successfully on AmiBench, and if so, what to do to get it running?
