Running Aladdin4D on an emulated Amiga
« on: January 20, 2026, 01:58:44 PM »
As a long-time owner of Aladdin4D, I've been trying to find a way to install and run Aladdin4D on Aminimiga on my A500Mini. I own a CD installation that I got from Discreet many years ago but no longer have an external CD-ROM to install. Even if I did, I'm not certain I could interface it correctly with Amiberry and my A500Mini. I found some installation ADFs online for version 3.0 which installed correctly. Unfortunately, the software refuses to run because it's looking for a copy protection dongle that the software required.

I really enjoy Aminimiga given all the amazing software that comes with it. I've been able to install a fair amount of software as well (all software I once owned) and would really love to be able to run Aladdin4D. Any thoughts about how to make this happen? I'm not certain if DiscreetFX is around anymore but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi there  :)

Couldn't you create an image of that CD and tell Amiberry to include it?

I don't know Amiberry that well, but I'm sure it is possible to do that with FS-UAE e.g..
