The DoomMaster repairs Amiga and Atari ST hardware.  He does a really good job and does not charge too much.  You can reach him on the Kali Game Server.  He is on almost every day.  His screen-names are:  HGC, Jasper, Fly, or DoomMaster.  I wish he was still here on Amiga Org.     :boohoo:
My favorite TV shows:  Star Trek Voyager, Forever Knight, Stargate SG1, Married with Children, As Time Goes By, Mr. Bean, Smallville, The Six Million Dollar Man, and Xena

Because he wasn't just an Amiga fan, he was a loony, and
had absolutely ZERO clue what he was talking about.

It only takes one or two threads on this site to prove
that. When idiot users run around giving extremely bad
advice as if it was gospel, it's better to remove them from
view than to let it endure and cause problems.

Hi Jose

try to contact Amiga.fr and Vesalia (the most important Apollo reseller ATM).

Ask them if they are able to fix Apollo cards.

For DoomMaster . . .if you have a broken bicycle, maybe . . .maybe ;-)

Ciao

If you're in the UK, Analogic looks like the only place to get your miggy repaired

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND YOUR AMIGA TO ANALOGIC!

One of the main reasons I wanted to join Amiga.org a fortnight ago was
to warn everyone what Analogic Computers did to me in 1995.

I sent them my A1200 to have the Video DAC repaired because I was
getting a blue screen and they just could not find the fault.

I phoned, wrote, threatened them with legal action when they kept my
Amiga there and didn't send it back. When it was sent back I was £50
short and there was still a blue screen.

I actually travelled to Kingston-upon-Thames to confront the Manager
and when I asked for a refund he said "You cannot have the cake an eat
it Sir" in a patronising tone, and had the cheek to take my details
like some police inspector.

My Amiga had it's screw threads worn, warranty stickers slapped on it
with super-glue, came back with fingerprints all over and in the end I
had to go to Wizard Developments (now Compute!) who fixed the problem
within 3 days for £20 cheaper.

Avoid these clowns, they operate from a tin shed in a tiny industrial
car-park. Their delivery van takes up 40% of the shop. They don't give
a damn about you.

Go to the French experts or see if Compute! or Power/Eyetech can help.
There are plenty of long distance options too and airmaililing your
motherboard is not that complex.

Agree!

Ordered a 2.5 inch HDD for my A1200 from them about 6 months ago and it was suppose to be partioned and prepared with WB3.0 installed but it came totally empty and unprepared.
Emailed them several times without response asking them why they sent me an empty HDD, even sent two fax to them wanting them to contact me by mail but nothing happened.
So I'm saying also: AVOID THESE SCOUNDRELS AT ALL COSTS!

Is there actually one low cost reliable Amiga dealer these days?
I begin to think not, with the exception of Amigadeals, who are actually cheap and very reliable nice people

Well, that's a definite lack of customer support and if it had been my
company I would have sent you some disks to install goodies!

Analogic have advertised on Amibench before now (raj@analogic.co.uk)
and I ask you, what sort of professional company puts a wanted ad on a
free website asking for Amiga parts.

I remember the Analogic hard-disk software though... you were better
off without it!

It used this stiff, inconfigurable program that forced it's own
settings on you. Here are some of the files I noticed on their prep
disk:

An old trashcan (WB1.3 anyone!?)
DiskDoctor (Is that some sort of 1989 PD virus?)
ancient icons (and dodgily drawn ones)
d.rive definitions
drimve definitions
drive definitions
drive definitions1
yy
Test/Who.info (A icon with peoples signatures on it)
Devs/Keymaps/dave (It's probably a Klingon character set)
STARTUP-SEQUENCEO (sounds Spanish...)
t/version.number (Version dot number? For what! Why in T/ !?)
davesetup
formathdo (not a zero worryingly)

:-D   :-o   :-D

Hoya!

LOL! And I guess your HD had a bootmeny made with some dodgy, lame utility ripped from a "Boot-Disc Utils" disc! ;-)

Some people have no respect...

The only break DoomMaster/BoingBoss deserves is his third and fourth cervical vertibrae.

Shall I go dig up the obscenity-laden "farewell" email wherein he threatens to DDOS the whole site?  The guy's a human turd.

Well, everyone deserves a second chance...      except someone who
charges you £50 to deface your beloved Amiga!

hi!
on the subject of analogic....

I once took an A3000 there for repair and they said that they hadn't had much luck with them and they gave it a try but couldn't fix it lol. (it still isn't fixed today)  :-(

Then one other time I bought a 500mb scsi hard drive from them and they sent a 200mb one instead!! so that had to be sent back and I had to get the correct one sent instead.

You can include me in that list.  I do repair Amiga and Atari ST computers.  I usually charge a very low flat-rate fee plus the cost of parts and shipping.  Most repairs will be less then $50.00 plus the actual cost of shipping.  I work as a Class 4 Electronics Assembler.  So any computer repair work that I do will be professionally done with European pride.  I have an anti-static workstation at home and all of the special electronics tools needed to properly perform computer repairs.

@ Hyperspeed

I was just about to post a warning myself until I read your piece on Analogic.

I ordered an '060 card from them which took ages to arrive, and when it did it didn't work.  Raj at Analogic told me I was getting a 66Mhz model instead of the 50Mhz one I requested as I'd been "very patient".

The card I got was covered in what looked like the remnants of someone's breakfast and wasin poor condition generally.  No suprise then it didn't work.

I had to pay P&P to get the card returned to Analogic, who then sent it back...  Guess what?

I ordered a FULL '060 with MMU and FPU.  What I got was the EC version.  Raj even had the audacity to try and tell me that Motorola badged some '060s as EC chips even though they were actually the full monty units.

At this point I lost it, and demanded a refund, citing the Trades Descriptions Act.  Guess what?  They couldn't give a damn.  I eventually got my money back, but I had to pay for P & P again....

I've heard several horror stories about Analogic.

The sooner these muppetts go out of business, the better.
