Personal Paint 7.3 Bug thread

The Amiga Kit team were our guests at the SWAG Workbench event in October. I’d completely forgotten about this thread so proceeded to demo the inability to use the single pixel brush issue. The reaction I had from the team was this was the first time they’d seen it!

I’ll have to look for the free version of Personal Paint if that works. Crazy that this still hasn’t been fixed umpteen years on.

No problem making (and using) 1x1 brush with PPaint 7.1 here.

What version of Workbench are you using?

I have the issue on 3.2.1 and 3.2.2.

3.2.2.1, tried both on RTG (P96) and native, pistorm A500 (RTG), pistorm A1000 (OCS), MiST (RTG and AGA), FleaFPGA (ECS)

Can you describe how you reach the problem? I just picked up a pixel with the select tool.

Apologies for the delay in replying.

On the off-chance I'd missed something with my original installation, I tried copying all the files from my 7.3c CD on to my Amiga 1200's CF card. I then proceeded to copy any libs to the libs folder and also copied the H folder to the root of my system partition. This didn't resolve the issue.

Next, I asked a friend to send me a zip of the files from their 7.3c CD. I copied these files over and the file persisted.

In the end I've gone back to version 7.1. The single pixel brush works for me on that version.

I'm still baffled as to why I'm having issues with 7.3 on OS3.2.1 and OS3.2.2. It was fine on OS3.9.

Certainly a weird case, will be interesting to see eventually where the bug is, in OS 3.2 or in the PPaint 7.3c.

Surely 3.2.x as its not present in 3.9 (guessing with boing bags installed).
Wonder if its the same on 3.1.

What I can tell you is that the bug is not present in PPaint 7.1 with OS 3.2, so what does PPaint 7.3 do differently?
