IBrowseNetwork Program failed (error #8000000B)???
« on: October 03, 2017, 04:00:29 AM »
Hi. I finally get my network card to work with EasyNet (manual set up) and my router (ping works fine etc.). I installed Ibrowse 2.4 demo and I'm getting this:

IBrowseNetwork
Program failed (error #8000000B).
Wait for disk activity to finish.

??

Can someone help me? I found similar post but not answer to this problem.

BTW. If I'm lucky and my Amiga will not hangup I can actually load some website...

Some suggestions per Toni Wilen: AmiBay.....

Usual reasons for 8000000B (Line-F trap):

- Max transfer too high
- Library or program that requires FPU (and using setup without FPU)
- Missing/wrong 68040/060 library if you have 68040+.  (Not You)
- Old version of SetPatch

BTW, you can use the full version of IBrowse - Google is your friend for key. :)

This issue happen only with IBrowse. Every other software works fine. So, I don't think it is Max transfer, and I changed it and the same error is still there.

When you say "old SetPatch"... what is new one?

His sig says he's using 3.9.  He may already have a newer one than that...

Just to be sure. I'm running OS3.9 BB1,2,3 and 4 and I have this problem. I just installed old Aweb and it downloads "websites" (or what ever is left from it ;) ).

Ibrowse is the only program with this error :(. I'm going to try 2.3.

BTW. It is interesting that I have access to internet but my router doesn't see my Amiga connected.

Make a virus scan with virus Z.
Also this happens if tcp/ip is not running but this is not your case.

No viruses, Ibrowse will not load basically any website (with exception of sasg.com).

Literary everything else works great (like I mean great!).

The same error ALL the time.

Run snoopdos and check where it stops.

So, first time I tried it showed me error during loading javascript.library, so I turned off javascript in Ibrowse and... program hung up on me little later. (There is ton of fonts missing, but this should not be an issue).

Ibrowse works fine, I can do "anything", problem start when I start loading websites. See picture bellow.

Good think Aweb is working, so at least I can get to Aminet :).

Either install FPU or install correct version of IBrowse. It really sounds like you have somehow installed the Javascript and/or some image code plugin that require either FPU (68882/68881) or 68040/060.

I just checked, sasg.com seems to only use GIF files for images, which is probably why it doesn't crash there.

Any problems with Multiview?  Installed the latest versions of datatypes?  IMHO these are the best:  http://www.warpdt.co.uk/

By default, IBrowse uses its own image decoders. Of course, a way to test wether they are the ones causing trouble, is to configure IBrowse to use datatypes instead. Preferences, HTML, Images, "External" instead of "Internal". (for JPEG, which I suspect is the culprit here).

You are right...! I'm not sure how I did it but I did installed version with fpu. I actually tried that yesterday and most likely I AGAIN installed wrong one. Today I installed 020 version and... it WORKS!

"Me stupid". I think I got rusty...

Thank you for surviving with me. I was afraid there is something wrong with my carefully crafted beer, I mean AmigaOS install.

This is first time I actually see website running on real hardware under AmigaOS3.9. Last time it was when I used dial up... on my 14.4k modem, with Amiga connected to TV.

Thank you again for help!

BTW. Amiga.org looks BAD, but amigaworld.net looks great on Ibrowse 2.4 :(. I'm thinking about changing forum due to lack of support for old AmigaOS ;).

There's a proxy for that.  I have it bookmarked on my system,  lmk if you can't find it off-hand and I can fire up my system and get a link for you.  :)
