So sorry to hear about the damage amigasociety. You're super happy there's no other damage other than the case?

It is Amazing to see Amiga Shop in 2017!
When I came back from Ireland in 2005, I was Amazed to have a local Amiga Shop where I lived (Marseille). But 2017... that one of the thing explaining why I'm still around.

Also, is there any reason to install the official Update 1?  It obviously just came out.... but it sounds like there is nothing new in it for X5000 users.... but I know our OS is considered a Pre-Release.....

nope. update 1 contains the same components as our X5000 installations and doesn't contain the X5000-specific kickstart modules we need. you already are up-to-date! :)

"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here."

Is The X5000 splash screen include the pre release text as seen on HP video?
Under Classic version there's no such text.

I know my X5K has a pretty X5K splashscreen at boot.  ;-)

Thanks for all of the feedback!

I will do a clean install today... I like to know how everything works... That is usually a good first step... If I remember correctly... nothing too weird about installing OS 4.1... but then again, I have only ever tried on an emulator...... I guess I will see how this goes!

I know Amigasociety had shipping damage.... which is never fun.... and a bad network card (I think he is correct... these things are probably super cheap with poor quality control... hopefully we can use the onboard networking someday soon....) but I have had an overall great experience with Amiga On The Lake.  I always hate shipping tower computers.... I would almost prefer to get the kit sent to me in parts, and I build it.... I think it is safer....

As for the splash screen, the initial boot screen does have a nice AmigaOne X5000 logo on it... but the OS screen (until you change it) does still have the pre-release designation.... that is why I was wondering if we needed to update... but it sounds like that is not only not needed, but it won't work anyway as our X5000 build is still a bit unique.

Thanks again!
