A3000 Boot issues
« on: November 21, 2015, 11:28:08 PM »
Anyone have any ideas what a rainbow boot screen means?  My A3000 won't boot any longer despite swapping the CIA chips, daughter card, CPU card, and power supply.

The battery is clean and no signs of corrosion.  I've removed all the cards, etc.

Thoughts.

Attaching screenshot.

Thanks for any advice

The videos say that is private so we can not see it.

Rainbow boot, I never seen it like that, looks like a test picture.
Can you hold both mouse buttons before power up and turn it ON. Then try to boot w/o startup-sequence.

That looks like a monitor test pattern. Are you sure your monitor is good? Can you test with another?

I tried two monitors.  The video is available now, it just keeps cycling through the dark grey, light grey, rainbow, blue, black, then back to grey

What I would do first is to press down all socket chips down and see if there is any change.

Are you getting power light activity? Hard drive activity? What happens if you press the caps lock a few times?

Check the mobo timing crystal is pressed down firmly in its socket. Seems to be a timing issue.

Completely useless? I can always be used as a bad example
