That is not what I meant. Besides, I never used Personal Paint or Aladdin4D or OctaMED. I did not buy PPaint because I dont use it but if I needed I could consider buying a tool I need. It is not problem.

I just found Everblue's comment funny.

There is a surprise coming but I cant tell you or I would have to kill you ;)

I love surprises. :)

The comment about making software run 100% stable on AOS was more a general comment about old software.

And comparing sales and availability today vs 15 years ago is a bit hard.
Id imagine the cost overhead selling thru a Online Store is much cheaper than with Floppies/CDs like in the past. Plus then people had to order thru mail or get it in a shop.
With Online stores people are much more likely to do impulse purchases with stuff they MIGHT need cause it looks "shiney".

Yes, the active userbase was much bigger back then, but Id say Amiga vendors/developers can access customers much more effectivly now.

BUT Im not the guy balancing the spreadsheets. AmigaKit runs a buissniss with salaries based on Amiga platform. To have been able to make it viable for so long, he/they must have found a balance between expenses and income. If not; a company will inevitably go bankrupt (yes, I am aware that Trevor does have a healthy economy from activities outside Amigaland, which makes acqusitions easier/safer).

This is awesome news of course! :hammer:

All my experience lies with Imagine though, I think I understand however since Aladdin has probably been actively maintained where Imagine for all intents and purposes stopped long ago.

Maybe I'll need to give Aladdin4D a go! There isn't a book out there called "Understanding Aladdin4D 2.0" by Steve Worley by any chance?:crazy:

Are you deriding free / open source in some way? Only there's a tonne of non-open souce software on those two operating systems, Far more so than AmigaOS, so if you really dont want to stick linux or windows your choice of proprietary software is going to be severely hindered.

Just what did you mean by that comment?

@everyoneelsewhodidntlikemycommenttoo

I have nothing against free software/open source, such as Gimp, Inkscape, OpenOffice, etc. But these already run very well on cheap hardware - I don't need a 2500 Euro machine for it. I would expect special software for a special OS, thats all.

So why are you still here, take off already !!

Because this is not a Windows or Linux forum :)

Also, this thread is about reviving old real Amiga software and bringing it up-to-date with today's requirements. That is exactly what I want. The fun has just started.

Yes I would like to buy it too, software is portable it DOESN'T NEED to be tied to hardware. So  that's why I said I expect to be able to buy an AROS version like everybody else buys a AmigaOS4 version or a MorphOS version, so don't disappoint me AGAIN and make different rules rules just for MorphOS and AROS.
AmigaOS or MorphOS on x86 would sell orders of magnitude more than the current, hardware-intensive solutions. And they\\\'d go faster. --D.Haynie

To be honest, I would be surprised if this software is made available even for Morphos. A-Eon want to sell X1000s, so they make software for Amiga OS.

Now if someone could find the holder of the SoftWood's Final Suite and force them to take some money we can have some good 68K stuff again.

Chris

Wordworth rocked on the Miggy as far as I was concerned. I still have a downloaded version of Wordworth 1.0 for the PC somewhere. They shoudl maybe persuade whoever owns Digita these days to hand Wordworth over for a bundle of notes.

Do you realize that Amiga operating systems are using free and open source software that was not written on Amiga at all? :)
