A little case mod.
Adhesive plastic used. Looks good and is removable for when I decide to go stock again...:)

Excellent!  I'd love to see that on my black case.  How did you get the shapes right?  Did you just take a "rub" of the indentations using a crayon and some paper?

I would have laid the adhesive plastic within the indentations and carefully trimmed them with an X-acto knife.  One the black cases one could do the non-indented parts using white adhesive plastic with the red inbetween, then add a clear protective layer covering the whole door.

Yep, I roughly cut a piece to cover each segment, then laid it on the door rubbed it into the indentation and trimmed with a hobby knife. It was dead easy.
On a black case, I reckon using white would give a good look.

The plastic sheet is all over ebay for pennies

Ah, we think alike!

As a byproduct of the modeling craze of the '60s, we referred to the brand name stuff like X-acto knife, Testor's paint, etc.

Looks very sharp, nice work!  I'm not a fan of how those cases (or any other plastic case, tbh - I'm a huge fan of the CoolerMaster Cosmos original case and the CM WaveMaster cases) look bare bones/unmodded, but your mod really makes the front panel pop with detail.

The case (a Fractal Design Define R4) is made in heavy steel (27 lbs.) with an excellent finish and sound dampening foam inlaid.  Only the front door is plastic, but it is heavy and about a solid 1 cm thick; it is attached with a full length clip that makes it very stable and robust.  The case has a huge amount of room for a mid-tower and a lot of room to route cables.  I've never read a bad review about it.

Looks great! I kind of wish I'd gone for the white case for my X1000, but I'm happy with black :D

The Fractal cases are fantastic quality. It stands proud (albeit smaller) next to my Corsair 600T which my PeeCee hardware is housed in.

Great job you did there :)

@ ddniUK

as already stated over at amigans.net, looks awesome & congrats on such a clean job:)

Your technique looks like a lot less time & mess compared to my permanent model paint method (linky) but either way hopefully more A-Eon white cased owners will be inspired!

edit:

funny while posting my old link above I noticed an old comment from you from a few years back on my YouTube comments below: (glad it eventually rubbed off on you :-)

I know, Dan - they are a well reviewed and sturdy case, just not my cup of tea.  Tried one some time ago, but wasn't large enough for what I was trying to cram into it so went back to my old standby, the Cosmos.
