Of course I could boot my install disk was in great shape it was some other disk in the chain that must've been corrupt but not enough for the install to notice.

Running clean 3.1 now !

Just a little tip to thread starter who don't have any extra PCI expansions.

These PCI-E 1x (as you know it will work in any PCI-E slot including 16x) to dual PCI's are great, tho I recommend you to get a pair of flexible PCI risers also depending on case

Yeah, that'd make winuae my friend, just setup scsi hard drive controller via usb and fix in winuae. I was wishing I had had one last weekend.

Hi,

Looks like you have two different versions on your OS, when this happens like say you have version 3.0 and then put on version 3.1 it will come up with that error. Check your rom version, and then check and make sure that you didn't try to make up a disk for your OS because the one disk had a disk error, so you tried a disk from a different OS.
Don't know if I am clear on this description. but, sometimes when you are playing with disks, you put two different versions trying to salvage one version, well it just don't work.

I may do the betterWB, but I want to experience the C= os warts and all for a bit to get a feel for the baseline user exp. Like following the recipe a time or two before tweaking it. Never used an amiga, so don't know what gripes to have yet. Other than Picasso96 seems to be a p.i.t.a. to get configured...prob just "noobness"..lol.
