A person with A1200 in Munich? Help needed

I'm looking for someone who lives in Munich and is willing to check my  turbo board in his Amiga 1200. I would appreciate it much.

You are willing to meet with some stranger to hand your turbo board and come to his place or he brings his A1200 to your place to check about your board??? Wouldn't it be better, safer and more rational to just simply mail it to amigakit.com itself for report checking? I mean I know this is a community and all...but I wouldn't go as far as meet a stranger here not until I know that person for a very long time...

Well, I didn't think that way. I know people can be bad but I assume here, on Amiga portal, we have "normal" people
I don't want to send it, I just want to meet (and I think it would be more convenient to take small card instead of bringing to my place whole A1200) and simply check if it works or not. Not a big deal.

Your welcome But just as a final advice...don't assume. AmigaKit right now to me IS THE MOST SAFEST, RELIABLE and EXCELLENT customer support you can ever get your hands on it. Personally I wouldn't mind mailing my Amiga 1200 to them and wait for their results and repairs and pay for their services than any other way. If they have a physical store branch where I live, I would go there all the time for my needs.

I dont agree at all. Sure, not everything can be 'checked' by random Amiga users and Im sure thats where Amigakit can step in, but just for testing an accelerator you can and should depend on your local community.. And Im sure there is someone around in the Munich area that can help you.

The operation limits only to take out your turbo card and put mine. After that even from an CLI-shell you just check if the system sees the new CPU and FAST memory (showconfig (or similar) and SYSINFO). That's all.
But if you feel uncomfortable... Well, I wouldn't like this to give you a heart attack

I'm afraid replacing the accelerator in an A1200 Micronik Tower with a Blizzard PPC installed connected to a BVision PPC is a pain and not something that is easily done. As far as I remember it means to disassemble almost every part... and yeah, that would give me a heart attack...

Chris, I understood and agree. I assumed, wrongly, that you have just a turbo card and nothing else.
I'll try on amiga-news.de. If I'm lucky and find someone that'd be good. If not... well, maybe I'll get A1200 soon and check it on my own

TBH, its not that hard. Ive done this at least a 100 times. You just need to disconnect the VGA cable from the bvision, then take the ppc card out with the bvision attached, and plug the other accelerator in, connect it with rf-out to a tv and boot with no startup-sequence. its done in 5 minutes max.

BTW Munich is an awesome city, I was there last year and there, inside the museum of technology, was a commodore 64 on display. made my day
