Well, not everyone is to like / accept the "rape of computer culture".
CUSA might look polite and customer oriented, but there is a real "trolling patrol"
trying to spread the "word of new" "Amiga". So big provocation invokes emotional responses.

In all other aspects this community (not only here) is helping and giving good advices, its CUSA that isn`t part of it and tries to penetrate so hard.

So I testify that Dammy has 99% done only adverts for CUSA at any Amiga board.

You can testify all you want.  However everyone knows you can't comprehend what you read anyway.

At the very least the whole Amiga Mini = standard Windows box in standard HTPC case is FACT.

Given the excellent advice offered to CUSA after C64x to improve their future product lines the VIC Slim and Amiga Mini are a massive step backwards.

I'm not saying ARESOne is perfect (they don't have Amiga looking cases) but with AROS full compatibility and AROSBIOS features they are serious about giving you some kind of x86 Amiga compatible.

Now given that CUSA DID make a custom C64 mk1 case and keyboard (inaccurate but this is today a less versatile style in the consumer view) AND that fundamentally short of booting from a blank screen directly into VICE C64 emulator full screen there was no C64 OS usable.

With Amiga things are different-
1. We have both AIO keyboard (A500/600/1200), HTPC (CDTV + WIRELESS Keyboard/mouse/remote) or 3 box setup like tower desktop (1000,1500,2000,3000,4000) styles to replicate.

2. We have 3 new OS choices (OS4/AROS/MOS) plus Amithlon+Amiga OS3.9. The architecture they chose is x86 but not even tested for Amithlon/AROS hardware compatibility.

3. Even A2000/3000/4000 keyboards are unique and different to PC keyboards but not even an A2000 style keyboard with 10 F keys only etc is being made.

So unless points 1,2,3 are not addressed, or even 1&2 alone, why would people here want it.

I might as well put Amiga 2000 sticker on fridges and sell those, both CUSA and my Amiga Fridges Inc product fail on points 1,2 and 3 but summer is coming and you need to keep the beers cool so mine is more useful :)

(The Amiga logo is done for free at the Chinese supplier after ordering in quantities of just 300)

For the sake of clarification, the problem with dammy (at least on A.org, I don't know about Moobunny or AmigaWorld) is that he has spent the last year actively spamming for CUSA here - every thread he's started since this one last March has been a plug for them. Either he's affiliated with them as a PR spammer (though he claims not to be an employee) or he makes a hobby out of spamming for a fly-by-night outfit selling ludicrously-priced, poorly-built PCs under the name of a dead computer company and brands that they have nothing in common with; either way, he's persistently annoying, and rude about it to boot.

Spammer of a Commodore Amiga products on an Amiga related site, that's really awkward and misplaced... bad Dammy!! He should have known that only AmigaOne overpriced and classic line spam is supported! I should tell him that.

And bad CUSA which wasn't able to use AROS so it wouldn't go against Hyperion AmigaOne line of products.

AmigaOne is overprized (compared to standard hardware) but at least it has something to do with the community (in opposite to CUSA). And when you read their answers Barry clearly stated that he has not invested anything in any of the camps and is not interested to change that. So he can keep his money (and products) and does not nerve the community.

Even if he is not allowed to preinstall Aros he could have supported driver development and could have created a kind of "Aros ready" system. He did not and said it would be a "waste of money" so I do not see any link to the community.

Nobody knows what C= would have been if not bankrupt but I suppose that they will be doing PC under windows because of the reality of economics. Strange thing is that C=USA are just doing that but many don't buy it weird isn't it?

I am sure they would not. Perhaps they would have created something similar to the Macs (PC+Linux-Kernel+own desktop).

And if they had evolved into using Windows we'd have gone onto using something else, whether it was Commodore or not.
People seem to think that Amiga users are blind Commodore users who'd still be using Commodore "Amiga" machines that were just PCs at an inflated price, just because Commodore did it. That's not true - our loyalty is to the platform, not the brand. So anyone's assertions of "Ah, but Commodore would be using Wintel now, we're just doing the same as they would" is completely irrelevant, because if Commodore were using Wintel, we wouldn't be using them - we'd still be using our Amigas.

AmigaOS could be called StinkweedOS for all I care, and CommodoreOS Vision could be called AmigaOS - I'd still not use it.

hmmmm.....

I find your response to this poll rather revealing. So, why such a CUSA fanboy koaftder?

Why was the Answers thread pulled from the front page? I'm sure it was there before...?

Seems kind of backwards to have one (or was it even two, or more?) threads about collecting questions, another telling when the answers to be published, etc, *all* those on the front page, but then when the answers actually get here, you hide *that* thread away? A bit schizophrenic if you ask me, especially since it is the Amiga.org staff that is managing the whole circus!

Make a decision and stick to it, allow CUSA related threads on the front page, or don't!

MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

I don't really give a damn what they would or wouldn't have done - Commodore never really understood the value of what they had anyway. If they had decided to suddenly turn a unique and elegant system into just another clone of a slipshod computer running a slipshod OS, I'd be just as uninterested as I am now. I don't understand why so many people here don't get this: it's the thing that matters, not the name.
Computers: Amiga 1200, DEC VAXStation 4000/60, DEC MicroPDP-11/73

So why do you keep dragging me into your trollish posts?  You rant, rave, spam, and then blame all your pathetic actions on me?  Get real, people can see how little I post vs your spamming of C=USA hate posts all over the place.

There's a conflit of interests with the Hyperion clause, the way I interpret it is like 'not worth the legal harassment'...
